Welcome to Bear Cub Knives
Never a dull moment...
Bear Cub Knives is the collaboration of two knife making enthousiasts who wanted to make an introduction range of purely hand-made Every Day Carry (EDC) knives. We found that there is always a problem with folders because they hinge and that ultimately makes them vulnerable. Mostly you carry a folder using a clip in your pocket, but that means you can only use one pocket. So we designed an EDC with a well designed belt sheath system: our Bear Cub Knives, are ergonomically inspired, strongly made, and ready for every day use.
We choose the bear paws as the main emblem for our knives because the bear has always been a great traveller of the wilderness. It's size and strength carries it through some very austere weather and treacherous terrain. The bear is undoubtably the king of the wilderness. Also it is recognized in the old traditions of Europe that the bear is a bringer of good fortune to the traveller. People wearing talismans or pictures of the bear have always been protected by its power. We trust that Bear Cub Knives will become reliable tools in your daily life.
We choose to make EDC knives in sets with a large blade and a small blade of the same proportions. We used a 1.6 reduction rate. Sometimes you have a knife which you like very much and wish that you had one just like that but in a slightly smaller or bigger size. The Bear has a blade length of 8,5 cm and the Cub's blade length is 7,5 cm. The sheath system also allows you to carry both knives without any problem and so your knife is easily accessible but does not get in the way of your daily activities.
Ultimately we would like to offer a 'build your own knife' category to the Bear Cub Knives. We also intend in future to make a tactical section, a clip, a sheeps foot, a Bowie and a Persian type blade. You can then also choose different handle materials and color spacers. The sheaths will also have multiple options to choose from. But before we expand our range, we will see how you like the Bear Cub Classic line.
